Business Continuity Plan

Introduction
Pan Caribbean has developed a Disaster Recovery Plan to improve our ability to recover and continue to deliver services after a disaster impacting our core information technology systems, business processes and services.

In the event of a disaster you should contact your Customer Service Representative who will advise you of any changes in our business arrangements. Additionally, notices will be published in both print and electronic media concerning the resumption of business activities.

 
Scope of the Disaster Recovery Plan

The Disaster Recovery Plan covers the following areas: -
  • A Disaster Recovery Plan Development Methodology which includes details of how the plan is to be developed and how processes and areas to be included were identified
  • Information Technology Systems Risks and Damage & Outage Control Measures which details Risks/Disasters, detective controls and mitigating measures
  • A detailed Disaster Recovery Plan including the following elements:-
    • Workflow Prerequisites For Successful Information Technology DisasterRecovery;
    • Information Technology Recovery Time Objectives
    • Requirements For Internal and External Redundancy
  • Recovery of hard copy records
    • Customer Files
    • Cash and Securities
    • Cheque Stock
    • Other Documents/Files/Records
  • A Structure For Disaster Management, Communication And Escalation Of Issues including: -
    • An Emergency Management Team;
    • Designation of Chief Communications Officer, Disaster Recovery Coordinator; Disaster Recovery Teams and Unit Representatives;
  • A Disaster communications Plan(Staff and Customers);
  • Alternate location/accommodation change;
  • Training and Development of key personnel;
  • Testing and Audit, including: -
    • Drills;
    • Audits;
  • Disaster Recovery Plan Transitional Arrangements – includes a Transitional Plan and Implementation Schedule;
  • Disaster Management & Recovery Strategy – details what specific steps to be taken from preparation to post recovery: -

 Potential Disruptions and Recovery Times

Among the potential disruptions which are factored into our Business Continuity Plan are fire, flood, explosion, vandalism, equipment failure, theft, accidental damage, telecommunications issues, networking issues, power outages, electromagnetic interference, file corruption hurricanes, earth quakes, computer viruses and external systems failures. Given the breadth of potential disruptions it is difficult to provide specific recovery times.

 
Updates to the Business Recovery Plan

As threats evolve and as our business information systems and processes grow and change, it will be necessary to make changes, the business recovery plan is therefore subject to modification and a summary of any changes will be posted on this site.
